Athletics WA will charge all athletes attending the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships a levy, there are two levy options
Option 1 - The levy will be $650.00 plus event entry

Option 3 - Athletes with extenuating circumstances can apply for an exemption to stay independently. Please contact the Athletics WA office to apply.
AM I ELIGIBLE?
To be eligible to compete, athletes must be a current member of Athletics WA. The 2018 WA All Schools will be held from 2 - 4 November 2018 and will be the selection trials for the Australian All Schools Championships. Athletes must be a minimum of 12 years of age as at the 31 December 2018. Athletics WA will select a team based on the qualification criteria (below) from this event to attend the Australian All Schools Championships in Cairns from 7 - 9 December. At the conclusion of each day’s session at the WA All Schools Championships, athletes who have achieved automatic qualification will be notified of their selection. This list of athletes will be emailed as an Excel spreadsheet to all participants as follows:
After Session 1 – approx. 12:00am Friday 2 November 2018
After Session 2 – approx. 12:00am Saturday 3 November 2018
After Session 3 – approx. 5:00pm Sunday 4 November 2018
Online registrations for “Auto Qualifiers” will open at 6:00pm on Sunday 4 November and close at 6:00pm on Monday 5 November. “Roll Down” athletes (those offered spots after withdrawals) will be able to register from 9:00am Tuesday 6 November until 6:00pm on Wednesday 7 November. The final team will be announced on Friday 9 November.
HOW DO I QUALIFY?
To qualify to compete in the 2018 Australian All Schools Championships, athletes must satisfy the following criteria:
- Athletes will be selected based on the results at the WA State All Schools Championships to be held from the 3 to 5 November 2018.
- Under 14 – Top two athletes in each event will be selected
- Under 16 – Four athletes for each event will be selected with a minimum of two under 15 athletes to be selected.
- Under 18 – Four athletes for each event will be selected with a minimum of two under 17 athletes to be selected.
- Para-athletes – two ambulant and two wheelchair per event in both U16 and U18 age groups
Under 14 - athletes must not have their fourteenth birthday on or before 31st December 2018 (ie must be born in 2005 or 2006)
Under 16 - athletes must not have their sixteenth birthday on or before 31st December 2018 (ie must be born in 2003 or later)
Under 18 - athletes must not have their eighteenth birthday on or before 31st December 2018 (ie must be born in 2001 or later)
All para-athletes must have a current National Level Classification (or higher) to qualify for entry into an Athletics Australia event. If the athlete’s National Classification (or higher) is past its review date, entry will be at the discretion of Athletics Australia.
Athletics Australia will hold a National Physical Classification in Cairns.
Athletics WA will be coordinating team accommodation for the 2018 Australian All Schools Championships. All athletes must stay as a team at the team accommodation from Thursday 6 December through to Monday 10 December. Parents can start checking athletes into the accommodation from 10am onwards. Athletes will be accommodated at St Augustine’s College.
If athletes choose Option 2 they will be flying on one of the two flights below. Team staff will be travelling on the following flights for those parents that wish to book independently but travel with team management.
Thursday 6th December 2018 (Perth to Cairns)
Flight 1 – Qantas Flight (Depart Perth 5:45am Arrive Cairns 3:40pm, stopover in Sydney)
Flight 2 – Virgin Flight (Depart Perth 5:30am Arrive Cairns 4:20pm, Stopover Sydney)
Monday 10 December 2018 (Cairns to Perth)
Flight 1 – Qantas Flight (Depart Cairns 12:00pm Arrive Perth 6:40pm, stopover in Sydney)
Flight 2 – Virgin Flight (Depart Cairns 12:00pm Arrive Perth 6:50pm, stopover Melbourne)
For those athletes that travel on the above flights ground transport will be arranged from the airport to the accommodation in Cairns.
Note: Athletes that make their own travel arrangements separate to the Team Managers will need to travel with a parent or guardian. It is then the Parents or Guardians responsibility to ensure that the athletes arrive at the accommodation no later than 6:00pm on Thursday 6 December 2018.
All Western Australian athletes competing at the 2018 Australian All Schools Athletics Championships must wear the official Athletics WA uniform. Compulsory Athletics WA competition uniform items are:
- Athletics WA Singlet (available in Men’s and Women’ sizes) or Athletics WA Crop Top (available in Women’s sizes);
- Athletics WA Running Shorts (available in Men’s and Women’s sizes) or Running knee-length Shorts (available in Men’s sizes) or women's boyleg Lycra shorts (available in Women’s sizes); and
- Athletics WA Track suit – available in all sizes (to be worn during opening ceremony and travel)
- Additional items can be purchased through ID Athletics.
