Sean Szalek and Melany Smart are set to debut this weekend at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games
This week the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games will get underway in the Bahamas with Australia set to field a team of 75 young athletes from 9 sports to take on the Commonwealth over the five-day event.
Athletics WA will be well represented by national junior High Jump champion Sean Szalek and middle distance star Melany Smart. The two powerhouse athletes will join an additional 21 Australian track and field athletes who are set to compete at The New Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium.
